I just love how these turned out! I sold a pair of these at the craft show last Friday too. They were my first ever craft show sale! I told Susan, my very first craft show customer, that she made my day and that I would never forget her... my first craft show customer :)

Snowy Snowy Wednesday

Chardon, OH... I love it here. I've been here a little over 3 years now and I am still stunned by the amount of snow that falls right here on this little town. Last year the papers reported that we had more snow here, in Chardon, than Alaska had. I'm remembering that article as I look out to see drifts of snow that are almost a foot high. Since it's early in the season, I can still say that it looks pretty... the way it coats the trees and the rooftops. Come talk to me again a the end of December and we'll see how pretty I think it looks :) ( I talked to a friend who live 1/2 hour away and it rained there yesterday)

Whoops! I Forgot!

I forgot to do the Friday special! Things have been pretty hectic here the past week. My basement flooded... the ceiling in the bathroom literally fell down, Amelia had 2 school projects, I had an errr, 3 day disagreement with the bank, it snowed 10 feet (well, maybe not 10)... this by no means is me complaining! It's just been hectic. One of those weeks that you thank God that you have a basement to flood, a ceiling over your head to come crashing down, a beautiful child an A+ school right down the street a bank to argue with :) and the beauty of freshly fallen snow. Anyway... I blame this on the reason I forgot to post the special today.

My First Online Ad Spot

Yeah! Front Page

I made the front page of Etsy the other day (isn't is pretty!?). Thank you miabeads! Just wanted to share the good news :) I'm the owl necklace up on top... it sold, but I am waiting for more supplies to make more. This is the necklace that was in the Home Companion magazine.

The Last Leaves

There are two ways that my designs come to life. The first way, and most common, is when I stare at my supplies and ponder. The second way, and my favorite, is when the piece is inspired by something specific. This occured the other day and resulted in these earrings that I call The Last Leaves. Take a peek at the complete listing here. :)

dream... imagine... fly

Imagine:

1) to form a mental image of (something not actually present to the senses).

2) to suppose; think; conjecture.

I've always loved the word IMAGINE. It's a simple word that I think looks pretty and holds so much meaning. It's the word that I use when I look at my beads. It's the word that I've always stated over and over to my daughter, Amelia, when she is looking at something to either figure it out or just contemplating over something. I actually hung the word in her baby room to engrain it into her. It's so important to use and to have.

Since I am not a graphic designer, I've struggled with branding my store on Etsy. I've imagined what I'd like, but never quite got there in my head. Then, it happened. I found SeaDreamStudio on Etsy and started browsing the designs in the store. There it was!! Exactly what I wanted! Not only is my favorite word in it, the image of the girl flying away on the bird just floored me. I had to have it and now it is mine. Thank you Dale!

I'm a happy girl today, flying on the little bird who will take me to places that I've dreamed of deep in my imagination :)

Meet Jester!

This is my latest one-of-a-kind piece called Jester! It's made with all vintage beads and pieces including vintage Millefiori red glass beads, marigold glass beads, green glass button and a micro mosaic clip on earring and a cloisonne egg. Amelia thought it looked like a Jester and I agree :)

Sad days at Etsy

Etsy has been having major problems with items getting exposure on the first pages of each category. This has caused a massive slow down in sales for many sellers on Etsy. I have applied at other venues and will let you know when those are up and running. In the meantime, until Etsy is better, I will be listing a sale... referred to as The Starving Artist Sale daily in this blog. I'll post a picture of the item that is on sale for the day and then it's up for grabs.
