Another Snow Day!

Not much work will get done here in Chardon today. It's another snow day! I have to find things for us to do around the house since it's too bad to go play outside. I'm pretty sure I'm stuck here today too. Looking out the window I see that the city has run out of salt. I don't think I'm getting out of the driveway, let alone down the street. I'll take a photo once the blizzard ends :)

I posted a photo of a Vermeil and Cubic Zirconia necklace that I put in my store yesterday. It make me warmer to look at the colors of the necklace!

On a Mission

I'm on a mission to use all of my supplies that I already have. Once again, I'll try very hard not to buy new until the old is gone. I know you've heard this before, but this time, I'm going to do it! This is why you'll see a wide range of styles and colors coming over the next few weeks.

Today I've added some bright silver necklaces and will be adding gold earrings and necklaces in a little while. I'll still be adding vintage pieces when the inspiration strikes so check in often to see the new, mostly one-of-a-kind pieces.

It's big, it's charming, it's vintage!

Big bauble charm bracelet made :) I've had this put together for a couple of week, but needed to drill through the pod bead. The hole wasn't complete! My stepfather took care of it for me yesterday. Thanks Tom! You can find it in my store right here.

Nothing Much to Say

I'm staring at this blank text area. I can't really think of much to say! I'm tired... didn't do so well with the going to bed early goal that I set for myself last week. I really have to work on that this week.

Since I'm out of words, I'll just post a photo of the snow on my table outside. I measured it. 23 1/2 inches as of yesterday afternoon. It's still snowing so it's probably passed 24 inches by now! There's also a photo of Amelia and her friend standing on the snow mound at the end of our driveway yesterday. Kid's paradise!

I had to throw in a picture of Amelia at the Cleveland Botanical Gardens a couple of weeks ago too. It was misting at the time that I took the photo (she wanted to wear a flower in her hair so a butterfly would land on it)! We went with Grandma and Grandpa and had a nice, warm time :)

I guess I had more to say than I thought!

I'm not a snob!

I'm really not a snob, but what I'm about to say, may sound a bit snobbish so please forgive me :)

I realized that even now, now when I truly haven't shopped in years, I still can't stand the thought of wearing something and seeing someone else wearing the same thing (it happened recently...yuck!). I know ...SNOB! I just like to be unique and I feel well... not unique when I'm standing in a room with someone else and we look the same. My point you ask? My point is I LOVE ETSY! I haven't been able to buy many things for myself, but there is a list a mile... no, two miles long of things that I want. The few things that I do have (thank you Jean and Lisa (mmm coffee) for two of them!) I cherish. I really like when people ask me where I got my purse and I can tell them all about Etsy. It's a great feeling on many levels.

So here's to all of the hard working artists on Etsy making the world a more unique place! Thank you! :)

Sections, Shipping and Photos... oh my!

I've created all new sections to make shopping in my store easier (at least I hope so!) Please leave comments if you like/hate/don't care... it would be great for me to receive the feedback.

I've also removed shipping fees on additional items. Every item after the first, ships for free!

I'm in the process of retaking photos on different backgrounds. Not sure if I'll go with it, but thought I'd give it a try.

My glass locket necklaces are coming back too and I will have some great new sterling silver necklaces to list over the weekend (maybe Friday too, but schools cancelled so not sure how much time I'll have).

Life is a Bowlful of Cherries!

I added three Cherry Quartz pieces to my site yesterday!

It's 3 degrees here in Chardon, OH. We're cold and huddling around the radiators! Brrrrr!

It's funny... last year I couldn't play in the snow with Amelia since I didn't have the right gear. My mom gave me some snow gear for my birthday this year, so now I have no excuses. Not having gear was a great excuse! I'm not much of a play in the snow kind of person since I would rather be inside under a warm blanket, but this year, I've played. I have to admit it's fun... to a point. 5 minutes is enough for me. My excuse today and for the next few days is "sorry, it's too cold outside" :) phew!

This weeks goals (and a little inspiration)...

First, I was completely inspired and awed by the amazing view tonight. I looked outside and saw sparkles! Sparkles everywhere! I had to go outside to take a closer look. The moon was full and white, right behind my Black Walnut tree. This caused the shadow of the tree to form perfectly on the untouched snow which was so sparkly I could hardly take it! I was standing outside with my jaw dropped in complete awe of the beauty (then I realized that I was FREEZING and should probably close my mouth and go back inside). I would have taken a photo, but it would not have shown the beauty that I saw with my own eyes.

puffluna's goals for the week ahead:
1) make something sparkly white and dark based on the sparkly inspiration that I got tonight
2) revamp some of my photos (taking all new photos)
3) contact a local store owner to ask her if she would allow me the opportunity to sell some of my jewelry in her store
4) call a local school about an advertising opportunity
5) fill all orders
6) create new pieces
7) continue to organize work area (paint shelves)

Julie's goals for the week ahead:
1) eat healthier (I bought bananas!)
2) sleep more
3) spend more time with Amelia

ok... that's a lot to accomplish, but I have a whole week to do it!

Imagine...

...she's wearing this necklace with her black dress. It's raining so she's under a black umbrella with the city lights reflecting off the wet pavement. She's running to get to the restaurant...

This necklace is made with English cut glass beads (rough facets) that I wire wrapped together with oxidized sterling silver wire. The color is amazing. One of those open the envelope and gasp moments for myself :)
